Update: Ray Nagin Still Sucks
Mayor Ray Nagin is still in the news, and he still sucks in this exclusive excerpt from cnn.com as follows:
"NEW YORK (AP) -- New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin criticized efforts to redevelop the World Trade Center site when confronted in a television interview about delays in rebuilding his city after Hurricane Katrina.
During the CBS "60 minutes" interview, a correspondent pointed out flood-damaged cars still on the streets of New Orleans' devastated Ninth Ward. Nagin replied, "You guys in New York can't get a hole in the ground fixed, and it's five years later. So let's be fair," according to CBS."
Occasionally reporters get a quote wrong, and attribute things to the speaker that were never originally said. Why is it then, that every time they report on Ray Nagin they always seem to get it right? Could it be that it would be hard for them to undersell how dumb this man is?
It's not so bad that he's dumb. It's also not so bad that he's a mayor. There are a lot of dumb mayor's I'm sure. But this particular one is unwilling to halt the steady flow of ridiculous things out of his mouth while being interviewed, making him the nation's most vilified mayor and with good reason. Naturally he was recently re-elected for the tremendous job that he did.
Didn't this guy have a mother who told him that it was a bad idea to point out what someone else did when he's standing in a pile of his own dog doo?
